CraftNOW Philadelphia unites the leading institutions and artists of Philadelphia’s craft community in a celebration of the city’s rich legacy of craft, its internationally-recognized contemporary craft scene, and its important role as an incubator for arts based in wood, clay, fiber, metal and glass.

The Center for Art in Wood

The Center for Art in Wood nurtures and promotes the innovation of art in wood through collaborative residencies, exhibitions, education and documentation.  The Center also maintains an inspirational collection and a research library to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the art.

Philadelphia Open Studio Tours, a program of The Center for Emerging Visual Artists, is the largest tour of artist studios and creative workspaces in the region and one of the premier open studio tour events in the country.

Each October, POST activities span twenty unique Philadelphia neighborhoods and highlight the creative workspaces of nearly 300 artists and community partners. No other program in or around Philadelphia consistently brings such an intimate and diverse cultural experience to the community free of charge and across such a large geographic area.

PNC Arts Alive

PNC Arts Alive is a multi-year, multi-million dollar initiative of the PNC Foundation, which receives its principal funding from The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. The goal of PNC Arts Alive is to help area residents gain access to the arts and to help arts organizations expand and engage audiences.

“We’re grateful to PNC for believing in the work we do to promote the ceramic arts in our community and for providing us with the funding through PNC Arts Alive that makes the Hands On Clay program possible,” says Christopher R. Taylor, President of The Clay Studio. “To be selected as a grantee is a real honor, placing us in an elite group of innovative thinkers with the common goal of increasing arts access. ”
