The Claymobile

Since 1994, the Claymobile Program has brought hands-on ceramic art education to 50,000 at-risk, low-income youth and families in Philadelphia. Today, the program runs year-round, sending professional teaching artists for one-day workshops or multi-day artistic residencies. This past year our Claymobile program visited 333 sites in the past year, engaging with 5,262 participants! The Majority of these participants, 85%, were students under 18.

Artistic Programs

Throughout the year The Clay Studio host over 20 exhibition free to public! This allows more people to engage with art work with no cost to them and a chance for a range of artists to be introduced to new audiences. TCS also welcomes new resident artists into our community annually, giving them access to the equipment and material we have at TCS, assisting them with material costs, and allowing them to display their work as a solo exhibition in our gallery during their residency.

Community Engagement

This past year we have hosted over 70 free events, not including the exhibitions, that serviced over 5,000 community members, a whopping 150% increase from our previous year! These events produced over 6,000 pieces of art that were returned to their creators after being fired by our studio technicians. We are proud to be able to provide these opportunities to our community members, returning the love and care they give to us!
