The Clay Studio's Work Exchange Program provides individuals aperiod of intense focus, on the creation and development of their own work. Itaffords them 24/7access to a shared studio, free materials and firings andprofessional development opportunities. It also exposes them to professions in the arts beyond that of a makeras they work in all programs of The Clay Studio's vibrant artistic communityoffering them a rare opportunity to experience first hand, the lives of workingartists, arts administrators, and educators. The Program is geared towards recent ceramic graduates (BFA’s)as well as ceramic artists interested in furthering their ceramic education andportfolio development.
In exchange, Work Exchange ProgramParticipants provide The Clay Studio 40 hours of work per month. Examples ofthe type of work to be performed include: studio assistance, teachingassistance, gallery assistance, retail sales, tours, public demonstrations, community outreach, etc. The Work Exchange Exhibition highlights the work of those currently in theprogram. Participating artists areYinka Orafidiya, Wynn Bauer, Victoria Ahmadizadeh, Tina Cheung, Shane Buckley, Kara Marotta, Grace Tessein, Emily Peters, DannyKnox, Betsy Foster, Amanda Patenaude, and Adam Ledford.
