Created in 1994 as the outreach arm of The ClayStudio, the Claymobile is dedicated to bringing clay art education to diversepopulations in the Philadelphia region. The Claymobile partners with schoolsand community-based organizations, integrating arts into their curriculumand programs. Each year the Claymobile student body creates imagination-filledwonders under the careful tutelage of our Claymobile Teaching Artists. Thisyear, the curriculum was built around the work of three contemporary ceramicartists and also incorporated science-based projects. The 20th Anniversaryexhibition showcases student work from fourteen sites visited in the Fall of2013, including Young Scholars Charter School, Mastery Charter School, ThePhiladelphia Juvenile Justice Service Center, The Lansdowne Public Library, andOverbrook High School.
Students and their families are invited to a special reception in honor of theirachievements on Sunday, January 19th from 1-3 pm. This event will feature thestudents’ work, food, fun and Claymation activities.
