Andy Brayman received his MFA in ceramics from the New York State College of Ceramic Art at Alfred University in 1998. Throughout his career, he has consistently focused on traditional domestic ceramic objects, though in a highly fresh and original way. Borrowing from ceramic history, Brayman truly reinvents these objects through the manipulation of form, incredible design, craftsmanship and strong conceptual content. Decals, slip casting and other manufacturing processes typically associated with industry are his primary methods of fabrication. His work can be functional, sculptural or purely decorative.
