Nadia Koltsoon was born in Lviv, Ukraine and moved to the United States at the age of four. She received her A.F.A. from Middlesex County College in 2011 and B.A. in Art History and Ceramics from Arcadia University in 2014. Her art history thesis focused on Non-Conformist art in Leningrad after the death of Stalin and her ceramics thesis used traditional Ukrainian motifs to explore and comment on the social and political upheaval in Ukraine and Eastern Europe at the time.
Koltsoon worked as a Research Assistant at Arcadia University Art Gallery and started at The Clay Studio as an intern and teaching assistant before becoming a work exchange, teaching artist, and later joining the Development team. Today she fuels a strong caffeine addiction and spends long nights with itty-bitty paintbrushes, and trying to stop her cat, Pegasus, from eating all the plants.
