I was an artist in residence at The Clay Studio for six years. During that time, I wrote a grant to help establish The Clay Studio School, a community based program. The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts funded the program with a $5,000 grant and we began the first program in which artists in residence at The Clay Studio began sharing their experiences and knowledge with students who came from within the Philadelphia community-at-large. Through the School, guest artists were invited to offer workshops at The Clay Studio, i.e., Toshiko Takaezu, Paul Soldner were two of the artists I served as Director of the school for 3 years.
