I came in as a temporary guest when The Clay Studio was on Orianna street. I was voted in as a member and was working when the Arch Street Fire destroyed the building. The group of women and men were incredibly close knit and we found another home on Cuthbert Street. That comradery is still there among about 7 of us who still get together a t least once a year to catch up on clay careers and family.
Unfortunately I couldn't pursue clay full time. I went back to school at Temple University for a BS in Horticulture since I had started a small garden design business with Judy Axelrod, another ex-member of TCS. I have a studio at home and work in terra cotta periodically. Once a year I have a holiday open house for friends and neighbors. It's still a pleasure to do when I have time.
