Clare McComish is a ceramic artist from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Her primary studio practice falls within architectural ceramics for private and public clients. Alongside her studio practice she works for two community arts organizations as a project coordinator and as an artist-in-residence. Clare studied ceramics at the University of Ulster Faculty of Art and Design, graduating in 2000. Over the years she has been the recipient of several Individual Artist Awards from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
Clare has produced many public art works within Northern Ireland for hospitals, parks and a variety of community settings. In her residency at The Clay Studio she wants to further develop her exploration into architectural ceramic sculptural formations. During this time Clare would like to engage in some of the clay studio's community programs, as this reflects the two aspects of her own working life.
Bio
Clare graduated from the University of Ulster Faculty of Art and Design (Fine & Applied Art Ceramics) in 2000. Since then she has been the recipient of several Individual Artist Awards for research, travel and international residencies from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
